Good question I’m not much of book guy… I did take some classes on film during college and read a book or two but mostly learned through watching other documentaries and content. Imitation and practice. But the story element… I think depends on doc vs narrative style and with doc you can’t do much pre production. Things are less scripted and therefore harder to fit the puzzle pieces together for a good story.
