I think EV'S, along with some modern halo ICE offerings, are moving society as a whole into treating cars as just an appliance to be replaced at the first inconvenience. EV'S have to move in an "all in one" battery+frame direction to keep up with range and longevity expectations; unless a hot swap standard, that includes freon and coolant and electric connections, is soon achieved.

Yeah, this is a real problem, and I'm not sure there's any real incentive to stop it. IMO it's not specifically the fault of EVs, but rather that as reliability improves, people stop caring about repairability. Even back in the 80s when they started cramming everything under the hood, timing chains...
