General Artificial Intelligence is still far away, but a possibility that’s getting closer and closer.
There will be a time in which we coexist with human-designed beings that will see the same world, interact with it like we do and show consciousness/personality. And in my opinion they should deserve the same rights we have. Classifying them as a lesser type of intelligence only opens the window to stripping their rights away from them.

i think we would like to feel like designers, but it's more like growing a huge garden. these things are only very partially human designed. memebiotic evolution. selective breeding at best.
