TL;DR It's hard to get photo ID for old people in #Ohio
Photo ID and voting has been in the news a lot lately for the purpose of manipulating the election turnout. I'm not sure what Ohio changed already, I know they have a nightmare photo scheme they are pushing through laws
Here's how it is going
When my brother died this week, we inherited my 85-year old aunt. She needed a photo ID for banking issue, changing account info, etc. and my brother, who has been her caretaker for 10 years, had it and we haven't found it yet.
The BMV wouldn't accept her driver's license that expired in 2022 that was in their system because it was too old to use to issue an ID.
Even though she had a driver's license for most of her life, that expired in 2022, to get a new photo ID we have to track down her divorce decree from over 60 years ago because she uses her former married last name before her new married last name.
What the GOP has already done is bad. What they are planning to do is horrendous.
