Over the last week, we’ve heard stories of Starlink being cut off to Ukraine, and Google being shut off for judges at the International Criminal Court.
It’s increasingly clear that using American internet services is a business risk for companies, and a security risk for countries.
I moved away from Gmail as my primary email service in August (everything still goes there as a backup, but I’m using a different service to read/reply); I moved away from Google Search in 2024; but I still have a long way to lessen my reliance on US services.
