Buggy doesn't even describe it well enough! Every single Ubuntu install I've made over the last 10 years has one of those "Something unexpected happened!" crash dialogs pop up after about 5 minutes of being idle on the desktop. Even on completely fresh installs, on a variety of different kinds of hardware and VMs. I truly do not understand how that's acceptable.

It wasn't always that way from what I remember (or maybe everything else was just so much worse back then). The GNOME DE also got a lot worse for a time, and then Ubuntu altered that. It was a mess. Maybe it's better now, but it was bad enough I gave up on it. And the last time was on an Ubuntu cert...
