Love that you’re mixing fiction and non‑fiction in that stack. Some of the best ‘Bitcoin books’ never mention Bitcoin at all, they just rewire how you think about power, money and human nature...
Indeed, understanding bitcoin requires digging deeper into other topics too, all to see the beneath ; the truth and enormous machinery (still) running this world. To your question: hard to say, I'd need 1st to spend some time with this newbie, to better grasp their problems, interests, attention/focus. Below are just some of the ***bitcoin-non bitcoin boks I've read on my journey, which from time to time I do suggest to others, but what I'd probably do before offering a read, are two films: NO MORE INFLATION by Shooter + THE GREAT RESETS AND THE RISE OF BITCOIN by Pierre Corbin (maybe for some, sth simpler too, like WHAT'S THE PROBLEM by Joe Bryan. Books are amazing, but 1. one needs to read a few to get a better picture (not to blame the authors, yet still most are one way or another selective or even biased), 2. Some areas may be overwhelming and hard to focus in a written format, 3. Sadly, not everyone finds enough time for reading. Hence, something to watch would be my choice. Still, I find Lyn Alden a very good piece to get into the history of money and tech, if someone is ready to explore.
