Dr. Jeff says we’re in world war three.
No other macro/military analyst I’ve listened to believes this.
Because nothing makes sense, this means we are definitely in world war three.
We've been in what may as well be called WWIII for awhile now. If not WWIV, with WWIII having been the Cold War (though calling it WWIV may infringe on a dialup BBS trademark).
The idea that the next world wars look like the last ones is a weird bias we have. It's sort of like the idea that finding life in the universe means we're going to find beings that more or less look like humans.
Never forget that at the beginning of WWI, cavalry meant literal men on horseback.
And for as much destruction we can carry out with our technology, it may be worth counting our lucky stars in recognizing just how lucky we are that we hopefully never need to go back to that sort of warfare. NATO's war against Russia in Ukraine is bad enough given how much WWII era weaponry has been getting relied on.
That all said, the fact that simply pinching a couple of straits could see us looking at food production dropping off such that more people could die than in the holocaust and the Soviet gulags combined is pretty fucking alarming, even if they're not doing so in a trench...
