22%+ of the Bitcoin network is running Bitcoin Knots because they dislike spam and for them Bitcoin is Freedom Money
7%+ are already running BIP110 because Bitcoin is Freedom Money and NOT an arbitrar...

Most Bitcoiners (I hope :D) think spam is temporary and we should not waste time on spam. We should defiantly NOT risk contentious soft fork because of spam.
We should scale Bitcoin so that monetary transactions price out the spam.
If monetary transactions can't do that, we have lost anyway.
