If gold is not used as a means of payment then why is it 10x market cap of bitcoin? I agree that it needs to be an MoE to truly slay the dragon of fiat but it is hyperbole to say ALL of its value is ...

Gold is used as a financial instrument and most of its value come from that.

It would be same with Bitcoin, as long as it was perceived as money by normal people. The moneyness of Bitcoin would form the core of its value on top of which other types of demand would be stacked.

With Gold I believe it has a fundamental demand for jewelry and other small use cases, and on top of that there is a vast amount of financial use cases that make its value be much bigger than that of other rocks.

In both cases if you remove the fundamental source of value the thing tends to zero.

The utility value of gold is like 10% of its market cap. Most of its market cap is imputed monetary premium (speculative). Its intrinsic value argument is moot and not a meaningful floor for price. I hate complacency and I think we have to push for MoE but I also think the store of value argument ...

Gold's value is a Fed illusion, propped up by central banks like the ECB and Rothschilds. Bitcoin's real threat is decentralization.

Bitcoin's value is it can be exchanged for fiat money which you can use to buy most anything with.
