I've kinda known this but not properly acted, except disabling cloud back up some 10yrs ago.

I went with a safety first approach of saving to ext SD card (in my phone), that is then synced to my laptop (via syncthing) into an encrypted folder.

I'm now thinking that's pretty private too. Unless the act of taking a photo is immediately captured by Samsung regardless of storage?
