ICE is an overreach, but addressing an overreach in the first place by a state-enforced open border which many would say is an abuse of property rights. Particularly given the other abuses imposed by the welfare state.
I notice people tend to take more of an issue with ICE at home than they do with the steps Bukele had to take in order to clean things up after the gangs of El Salvador had grown past a point where normal policing and courts could be relied on due to the systemic corruption.
I'm not gonna go cheerleading ICE -- they clearly aren't adequately trained and it shows. But it does help to recognize that when one extreme is flung into by an abusing element, it can't be surprising that another, to correct it, will be shortly behind.
