The term had it’s roots in specifically racial activism, but has evolved to just mean highlighting an ‘oppressed’ class to cheer for - even when it becomes nonsensical to attribute race ( for example ) to it.
Today it is a good indicator for someone who’s world view is through the ‘oppressed/oppressor’ lens.
