I have a crazy story related to this topic.

Circa 2018 ( pre covid ) a few friends and I were skiing/snowboarding in Meribel ( France )

After a long day we were having a few beers in our room streaming music to a bluetooth speaker from one of the mobiles. One of the group starts asking about said speaker, saying it sounded good etc, asking where it was bought from etc etc.

Within a few mins one of the people in that room had an advert email showing where said speaker was on sale.

That event was pivotal on why I am even here today. That, and Covid together are two of the biggest ‘events' that shaped my mind, sometimes I even question whether I am sane lol.

The crisis was always coming dude. We know this because one side has openly stated for the entirety of my lifetime, that their goal is the eradication of the other side.

The west has historically played the game of containment, in the hope the ideology fizzles out on its own. Hoping it collapsed under its own weight like the USSR. Clearly that wasn’t happening.
Clearly a day was going to come when the clash happened.

Given there are third parties included in the passing of conversations, it seems obvious a conversation is happening.

What I find really odd, is why the US doesn’t just say “We are talking to people in Iran about an end to the war, but not necessarily talking to the people in Iran claiming otherwise”
