In my case, the owner of the business died rather suddenly and tragically. I remember him meeting his lawyer to make a will, but no one knew the lawyer’s name and we couldn’t find it among his contacts. I assumed it was all in the massive safe for which no one living had the combination. I used craigslist to find gigs for a while, but then Covid...blah blah blah.
