I have a difficult question for my fellow Christians. After Satan tempted Adam and Eve to sin, God spoke to Satan:

“And I will put enmity

Between you and the woman,

And between your seed and her seed;

He shall bruise you on the head,

And you shall bruise him on the heel.” (Genesis 3:15)

The woman’s seed is Jesus, who is a physical descendant of Eve through Mary. I had always taken Satan’s seed to be people who rejected God, but if Jesus fulfilled literally and physically the prophecy of Eve’s seed. Is the seed of Satan a literal and physical descendant of Satan? Could this refer to the Antichrist and could it indicate that the Antichrist is a nephilim?

I don’t know the answer, but I do take God’s Word seriously, even when that is uncomfortable and contrary to what I believe or what I want to believe.

I’m not a fan of reading biblical texts in a strictly literal (or biological) sense. Could it be that, in this case, the “enmity” points to the reality that every human soul, while living in the fallen world, carries both the capacity for good and the inclination toward evil?

Possibly, but it seems more useful to consider Satan's seed as those who choose his ways. It's worth noting that בֵּֽינְךָ֙ (Between you) has several meanings. "Between" might not be the best translation. - Between, among, interval, space https://biblehub.com/hebrew/996.htm

I texted my pastor (who I’ve known for many years) because I love this question. I’m sharing it below: ### It's wise and humble to wrestle with tough questions like this while sticking close to what the Bible actually says plainly. “Jesus has already won the big victory over evil, and our j...

I thank everyone who has chimed in on my question. I think it is good for believers to have friendly debate on difficult topics.

Great question! The key is letting Scripture define its own terms. When Jesus called the Pharisees children of the devil in John 8:44, He wasn’t saying they were physically descended from Satan. He meant spiritual lineage. John makes it even clearer in 1 John 3:10, where the children of the devil...
