Yes, multiple orphaned batch of txs (ie, block(s)) is more appropriate I just… don’t understand the logic of 2026 truthfully lol

The last episode of What Bitcoin Did with Mr Hodl and Wicked was one of the better chats I've heard about the ins and outs of the activation mechanics. Good one to check out.

Also, I looked into Eric's rationale, and I get where he's coming from -- it does look like, as usual, his choice of words is very much on purpose.

I'd probably make a point to be very clear in your use of the word given that it's not as widespread, but it is founded in the idea that even running a node that isn't used to process transactions is economic in that economics is the study of human action, and there's action taken, even if not in trade being processed on the node itself.

For no other reason than to be more clearly understood. But thank you for clarifying to me :-).

As for the 110 activation I honestly don't even think they'll get to the phase where blocks need to be 110 compliant before the whole thing unravels. Fun piece of info I got from the podcast; during the activation stage, a miner can signal for 110 and then mine a block full of op_returns and be considered valid by 110 node rules, as it's JUST a signaling phase at first. I'm thinking there's gonna be some amusing weirdness as we close in on this all. If there's uncertainty for even an hour or more though it's more than I expect -- it does seem pretty DOA.
