Joe! I have been playing HOMM3 Since it came out. In university I partitioned my hard drive so I could run windows and play. I downloaded it from GOG.com a very long time ago. Still play it to this day.

Loved AoE2, its available on steam which you are probably already aware of. there is also an open source clone of AoE called 0AD which is supposed to be very good though I have not tried it.

you can find heroes 3 at good old games, download it and enjoy!

For heroes get gog complete edition, then install hdmod and https://h3hota.com there was quite a big update beginning of Jan. Also there is online lobby.
