Serious question, do people pay this much? I cannot even begin to understand how people could spend that much.

Here is my list:
No college (still have a job that allows me to provide for my family as the only income).
5k wedding 12 years ago for 50 guests. And I felt it was too expensive.
300k house 7 years ago in a really nice neighborhood. And it's huge, we really didn't need such a big house. This is in a Midwest city.
15k car, it runs great it's just old (I think it's 2012; we got it almost 2 years ago after reparing our 2005 was getting more and more expensive).

Never paid more than 5k for a vehicle myself. Not sure houses will ever look good to me to buy, I do too much construction work to feel good about any building tbh
