Seems the odds of anyone owning anything needing to eventually defend it are only going up…..by design.
As to whether an open field is easier who knows?
It does seem you have a better chance of catching movement on a camera before their right in close that way.
But enough cameras and booby traps in the forest might be better too.
If those trees produce food that’s both good for you and an attraction too……
