I get the sentiment. Blaming immigrants for all of life's problems IS bad reasoning.

But here's the thing — that sign is arguing against a position most people don't actually hold.

What a lot of people ARE saying is: rapid, unmanaged immigration puts pressure on wages, housing, and services in specific communities. That's not hatred. That's math.

Harvard economist George Borjas spent his career documenting real wage effects on low-income workers. Cities like Dublin and Denver have real housing crises tied in part to rapid population growth.

You don't have to choose between "immigrants are the problem" and "all immigration concerns are dumb."

Both of those are lazy positions.
