512 blocks would reduce lag, but a few realities remain. Variance is still high with only 512 samples. Difficulty would swing more on pure luck than the current window. Isolation and timestamp attacks become somewhat easier the shorter the window gets.
Any change requires a hard fork and actual consensus. Just lower it to 512 is easy to say and hard to coordinate without creating more drama than the current system.

Ah, good points. I don't personally use Bitcoin, so don't have a dog in that fight, but I just thought it was an idea worth spitballing to see what would come up.

Just watched #BIP110 fail and it got me to thinking... Why so long between difficulty adjustments? #Monero ...adjusts its network difficulty every single block to keep its time pretty close to two mi...

Monero’s every block adjustment is more responsive and keeps block times tighter under normal conditions. The cost is more algorithmic complexity and it still lags significantly after sudden hashrate shifts. Both designs work, Bitcoin prioritizes stability and simplicity over tight short term control. That’s why a near zero hashrate minority chain can sit almost frozen for a long time before difficulty can drop enough to recover

Nobody wants to hear it, but people who actually understand Bitcoin, didn't have a coldcard. It was an IQ test, and its unfortunate that people got scammed by a fat jew in Canada.

Coldcard was a litmus test, not an IQ test, exposing the gullible to Canadian con artist Rodolfo Novak's incompetence.

Non of it. I am a retard. Never learned how to read or think good. In all seriousness.

Yeah. It was pretty stupid
