I don’t understand the narrative that we need big centralised miners.

If nation states start to adopt bitcoin there will be an arms race of hash power to ensure their bitcoin isn’t stolen.

If they don’t but plebs continue to believe in bitcons value proposition there will be thousands of solo miners.

In both scenarios the difficulty adjustment will compensate for the change in hash rate.

Just because a company won’t be able to make money from mining doesn’t mean there will be no mining. There was mining before the big mining companies and I don’t see why there would not be mining if they disappear.

I guess my thought was that if mining becomes unprofitable it will centralize more not less. Ideally mining would be highly decentralized to minimize attack surface.
