If capitalism rewards “value,” why does it reward attention-grabbing noise more than competence?

We can't really know in modern times what capitalism would look like. As long as the central banks exist all incentives are flipped, creative destruction is negated through lobbies and cheap interest rates. Minimizing the quality of the population.

I would imagine without the previous 100 years of central banking the attention grabbing noise would not be so prevalent. It's kind of an easy consumable media, for a stressed population.

The opposite would be true for the alternative. Difficult topics long forum media for a population with time to invest.
