The school system does a great job of telling us that slavery looks like whips, chains and branding irons but pushes following the system as the right thing to do. Most people don't spend any time thinking of the legal system that was behind slavery and is only lightly concealed by notions of "Rule of law" and "Democracy"

Notice all the ways that "Consent" is needed for medical and sexual matters but has no place in matters of taxation or the establishment, the double standards are swept away by the education and media systems. The powers that shouldn't be, spend a lot of time, effort and (our) money on keeping us from thinking about our enslavement.
