Swan is 100% marketing, that's pretty much their entire business. They own absolutely nothing and just have a store front that uses apis from their masters.
It's the same as using any normal exchange...

Have they been living up to the ideals they've promoted over the years? No, due to the companies they get into bed with.
If someone wants to acquire sats in a KYC fashion, would I recommend Swan them? Not my first choice nowadays...could do a lot worse though.
