I did actually add logic to my game to decouple them for this reason but most won't ever test on Wayland
I wonder if an API layer could be built that wraps VkSwapchainKHR and offers the application "fake" frames up to a minimum rate? Almost everything goes via Vulkan now with DXVK and VKD3D
