The ECB continues to see Bitcoin, along with the rest of crypto, primarily as an investment asset, as it is "not-backed-by-euros" money.

There is little hostility to Bitcoin or gold, in particular, or private money, in general, but crypto and metals are not seen as a viable alternative to the euro 💶 . I.e. not regarded as a primary settlement rail.
