I still think we're in the 40's. This is Fed oriented inflation, not Eurodollar inflation. If anything it's Fed inflation to counter Eurodollar deflation. WWII didn't involve the Eurodollar but it did involve money and resources outside the US being destroyed, leaving a gap between Treasury issuance and market demand for those Treasuries. This was NOT the dynamic in the 70's.
And maybe it's fair to say we're somewhere in between the two. History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme.
