The problem with that is increasing ghettoisation of everyone who dissents, so we're cut off from mainstream channels of information and communication.

It doesn't really work that way because lots of people have accounts in lots of places and memes (in one form or another) have a POWERFUL tenancy to propagate across mediums - so what matters is which medium is the intellectual hotspot where memes are originating from.
