Cake wallet is fine, you could also go monero only with monero.com on your phone (it's cake wallet's monero only wallet)
For desktop I suggest the monero GUI wallet (node included) from getmonero.org ...
For the desktop I am suing the cli wallet. I like the command line. For the cellphone I will go with your recommendations and try cake wallet.
