The categorical error of this article is that speaking online should be the same as speaking in a public square.
And that pseudonomous speech is somehow irresponsible, unaccountable, noise. It does not explain how some of the most principled people in social media are pseudonyms. Twitter/X, formerly the "free speech platform" but hardly called that anymore, was built on pseudonymous accounts. Maybe it's no longer a truly free speech platform because of the tightening KYC restrictions. Any platform, for example Facebook, that positively identifies its users loses its ability to host free speech discussions.
