In defense of Mitch McConnell's staff and family, maybe they're not manipulatively keeping him technically alive just so that they can avoid a special election and improve Republicans' chances of retaining his seat.

Instead, maybe they're lovingly keeping him technically alive in order to postpone his burning in hell forever.
