There are millions of coins sitting in bitcoin wallets from 2009 untouched, and if quantum computing ever gets close enough to crack those keys, those coins will move.
The entire network will see it ...
That's my PoV. They're basically a bounty available to anyone that can figure out a way to unlock them.
I'm opposed to freezing 'QC vulnerable' UTxOs for the purpose of avoiding a price crash if they move. I don't care if this slows bitcoin's monetization in the short term.
I have a fantasy that as humans raise their frequency, some with pure intentions will access these UTxOs for the benefit of all.
If you're worried, move the UTxOs to another address, honey badger DGAF.
