No one stopped them. They were a loud minority and the network carried on as usual. They thought they could capture #bitcoin by having 20% of nodes

I was for Bip110 but it simply did not have the support it needed. I am not going to sell all my Bitcoin for a coin controlled by 1 person because of this. That is much worse.
