Turns out those birds of prey will find me no matter what time I hit the trail. https://blossom.primal.net/ad3a19931036ef647aa17bcbd7d3cdb0e18b8a1aa078a33a4229ee33f09dc648.mov

I have about 5 acres of open meadow surrounded by stands of tall trees between the front tended acreage and the rear wooded acres. The wind is out of the NW hits the NW stand lifts and then falls into meadow, then lifts again at the SE stand falling into my neighbors property. I regularly have a lone hawk, frequently two, occasionally three hunting the meadow. Sometimes I swear they don’t flap their wings for twenty minutes or more simply using up and down drafts. Mesmerizing, until they find what they’re looking for. They also fish my pond. Last vet visit Luna clocked in at 89# so I think she’s fine. 🤞
Deer are really moving during day now with harvest beginning. Coyotes will be here soon. My absolute favorite time of year.
Life is good. 🫠

Yes they are fascinating to watch hunt and fly. Sometimes the crows will chase them off if there are enough crows. Straight brawl.
