I recent registered a jabber name to look and see if i could find reason to use Pidgin again. There was just something about a message popping up on screen that hit different than just being delivered to an existing window. I guess in that I'd actually see it 😆. Technically there's a pidgin plugin to use with discord but in practice it's insane unless you really are just talking to individuals rather than joining the chats, as every separate channel is, well, a separate channel.
