I started out doing my own oil. When I was "rollin" in it and had 4 vehicles to maintain, I would bring it into a local place and I trusted the owner. But then he hired different management, and he had jokers working there, then I notice an oil puddle in the garage so I go back to doing it myself.

I find out they overtightened the oil plug, they put the cheap filter on, they never checked the air filter after they said they did. There are only two fixes for a stripped out oil plug: A) a new oil plan, which involves lifting the engine and removing the exhaust manifold. Or B) a timesert. Option B doesent always work, but it did for me and against my better judgement the hard lesson over again: letting a dufus touch your engine costs way more than however much they charge.
