It's funny how people on Nostr so often think that the general populace would have a problem with app age checks. They love this stuff. This is really popular lawmaking; that's why it's spreading like...
I find this is less about convincing normies (though I will maintain that educating normies is a noble pursuit no matter how hopeless it seems). It is more about applying the right political pressures, advocating for better data and privacy laws, trying to educate legislators, and taking age attestation laws to the courts.
A number of the laws have been challenged and more than one has been overturned in the States.
The issue with a lot of people on Nostr, and in the younger libertarian/anarcho-capitalist crowd, is that they seem to have an allergic reaction to any suggestion of political involvement. I'm a statist cuck for saying we should be doing what 90s cypherpunks did.
