what helped was that we owned all our tools. our rent was dirty cheap. we got our accounting and legal firm (who we'd been working with for years) to accept it. and we were working with bitwage to turn contract payments to bitcoin, until we learned to do it ourselves.

at the time too, you could snag fiat debit cards pretty easy and could use those for bill payments too.
