Self-custody is a non-negotiable at Cake Wallet. That’s why, in 2024, we did something painful: we hit pause on our Lightning integration.

We saw too many wallets "solving" Lightning by forcing users into custodial shortcuts. We tried the best-known decentralized alternatives at the time, but the user experience just wasn't there.

We chose to wait for the right tech rather than ship a bad experience.
