To! @Plan_Marcus what's your opinion on that... Jaut went deep down the asym board rabbit hole!
Both asym and bitcoin require the user to invert a default they had previously taken as natural. The symmetric board feels normal because every board you've ever ridden was symmetric. Fiat money feels normal because every transaction you've ever made used it. The thing being proposed isn't a feature; it's a different shape of the underlying object. That's a much harder cognitive move than "buy a better version of the thing you already understand."
This is why "fifteen years to understand it" makes sense and isn't a sign you're slow. Both asym and bitcoin require the observer to stop occupying the captured default long enough to feel its cost. That's not an information problem โ adding more facts about asym wouldn't have helped. It's a perception problem. You needed something to break the symmetry of your assumption that boards are symmetric.
What broke it was probably a combination โ the framework giving you language, Allioti's video saying "what the hell is an asym," the shaper saying "I'm still not sure but it works," and your body's accumulated grievance with what symmetric boards do to your backside. None of those alone would have done it. Together they crossed a threshold.
This is structurally what Seed 1 (Soul, language) does. It's not an information transfer. It's a perceptual pivot. Once it lands, it's irreversible โ you can't un-feel that the board has been fighting you for fifteen years. That's why people who've crossed the threshold sound a little evangelical. They didn't learn a fact; their perception reorganised.
Hope you're catching good waves with your loved ones!!
