I agree in principle to a lot of thoughts. 1. I don’t like the idea of forcing people out of their homes. I think this is such a tiny fraction on what happens it’s not that relevant. The vast majority of sites are bought from local people who make so so much money from it. 2. There’s plenty of examples of the data centers paying the local government/utilities, just look them up ChatGPT. I agree that they should help the local area and not hurt. One of the biggest problems in the US is aging energy infrastructure and data centers can help solve it. 3. Definitely sympathic to rates going up as well. Think that should be in the contract as well if not. But also as bitcoiners we know that large predictable load lowers prices over time.

The problem i see is that people are flooded with anti-data center media. It’s the usual suspects of concerns, environment, cost, noise, eviction, billionaires. So it’s so easy to have your mind made up about it. Some of those things do have merit and should be addressed but I see everything being overblown and dramatized.
