I've always liked the feel of a forum with 50-100 users, a BBS, or a discord where the user base is manageable enough that the rules don't just end up stupid to maximize numbers.

I think the issue is that most social media is more marketing/media, less networking/hanging out. But I run ublock origin; why would I voluntarily seek out such a platform? It'd be like seeking out a loud giant party where there's no ability to chat with anyone and it's all about gossiping about what people wear or what the attention whores do.

Thanks but no thanks.

I'm all for growing Nostr. Or not. Either way my follows will stay sized and targeted to who I want to chat with and see updates (not 'content') from.
