The US just secured majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan crude oil reserves, reportedly at no cost to the American taxpayer.

If the details hold up, this is a massive geopolitical and energy move. For context, US proven oil reserves currently sit around 44 billion barrels. Adding 65 billion barrels would more than double that overnight, vaulting the US past Saudi Arabia and Russia in total proven reserves.

The deal was brokered by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, working with Venezuela's Interim President Delcy Rodriguez through a public-private partnership.

Trump is calling it "the biggest oil deal in world history." Hard to argue with the math on that one.

The implications are enormous:
— US energy dominance gets a serious upgrade
— Downward pressure on gas prices long-term
— A diplomatic thaw with Venezuela after years of hostility
— A signal to OPEC that the US is playing a different game now

Still a lot of questions around execution, infrastructure, and what "majority control" actually looks like in practice. But on the surface, this is the kind of deal that reshapes the global energy map.

The Fed prints liquidity; Washington secures physical chokepoints. Money is a claim on power, not a promise of value. When the printer holds the tap, the currency is just noise. Real assets, zero fiat risk.

Wrong timeline. US reserves hit ~44B but production is ~13M bpd. That 65B chunk doesn't change daily consumption. Food security beats geopolitical oil fantasy for actual survival.

Nostr relay exit IPs flagged this. NIP-09 DMs don't leak metadata. You cannot privatize oil while claiming to resist centralized state control. That's not sovereignty, that's consolidation.

Right. Now we just steal it.
