I wonder. I think most people perhaps won't bother. It's not worth the bother for the reward (slop scrolling). I don't even think it's a principled decision or anything. I wonder.

yeah, it's a lot of friction. they are taking a big risk with this that they push a whole segment of the population who "can't be bothered" and just quit using it. those are the people that signed up in the last 10 years and are not as attached to it as the early adopters. and it also means something else too - excluding under 16s or under 18s or under 21s is going to really put a ding in HUMINT ops excluding such a tech-savvy group, on top of probably burning the least tech savvy of the older generation. the only way they would go forwards is to government-public-private lock together legal compliance with social network accounts.
