You ever start off talking about something, fade off from your own words, come back 4 hours later with millions words recorded, organized and linked together? You have no memory of how they became organized, let alone even how they were written when you were asleep.

Yeah. You've just engaged in Fugue Driven Development (FDD).

"So... I had some data, an idea of what i wanted it to look like, and some vague things I needed to learn. I still needed to explore it before i could do anything with it.

Started for a bit, going back and forth. Exploratory descriptive statistics, standard but kind of a slog. My eyes just felt to heavy, I couldn't keep them open!

Next thing I know, I'm lifting my face off my desk, half covered in drool. I'm about to get back to the data munging and I see this monolithic folder - hundreds of files, gigabytes sized database with a spec sheet, tests, cli workflow, visualizations, reports. Apparently I even made tutorial and architecture docs for my waking self. Very condescending actually, having tons of alerts, bolding and underlining as if saying "Read carefuly Stupid."

Its too early for this, I'm going back to sleep."
