@nprofile1q... deet will attack nylon fibers, so i have to use Picard, which isn't as effective. I use permethrin 10% diluted to 0.5% to soak clothing and outdoor gear in. It does work. Additionally I use a thermocell backpacker model (the portable ones use outrageously expensive gas cartridges, backpacker model uses standard cooking butane bottles, and a single 5 dollar tank will last most of a summer). I seem not to attract ticks (wife gets tens of ticks ill have none) but mosquitos luv me...
