There in lies one of my disappointments with my nostr experience so far. Not everyone wants to have a go at steelmanning a contrarian position. In fact, one of the proposed benefits of nostr is the ability to curate your own echo chamber. It’s an interesting dichotomy.

Sense of community, feel good, etc. Most have been conditioned to this since modern day social media algos. We've lost the ability to have civil discourse and those norms are being projected onto similar "feeling" tech platforms.

You've said this in a podcast episode, or at least implied it (I don't even remember). You essentially spelled out how hard critical thinking is, and confirmation bias is certainly a result of lack of critical thinking.

That’s why I also follow people I disagree with. There’s a chance that I’m wrong about whatever it is I think they’re wrong about and I’m open to changing my views.
