Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's striking how many times the word *just* is used in non-denominational "contemporaneous" prayers. "Lord, we just ask..." "We just pray..." "Father Go...

This, the tongue-smack, other fillers almost like unconscious 'ticks'--it's noticable, distracting, and off-putting. 💯

For sure. Private prayers are a whole other story. (They can sound awful, like mine.) But it doesn't need to be that way for public or community/liturgical prayer.
